It is a shame that Wellington in Somerset has been without its own Insurance Broker for some time now – it’s been over 6 years at the time of writing since Gill Knott, the last independent insurance broker in Wellington, sold out to national firm Towergate and moved to their offices the other side of Taunton. Another broker – albeit not one directly authorised by the FCA like us – briefly moved into the town centre more recently but he’s also now left.

Don’t worry though, we’ve still got your back!

We’ve been arranging insurance for Wellington businesses for a number of years. In fact, when we first set up in 2013, one of the first clients to join us was an IT business on Chelston Business Park and they have remained clients ever since.

We have hairdressers and beauty therapists in the centre of Wellington as clients, a Charity and a coffee roasters out at Tonedale Mill, a Website Designer out at Poole and we have some Motor Trade businesses based at Foxmoor Business Park.

We also spend our money with Wellington businesses – the signs on our office here in Taunton were made for us by a client on Westpark!

We may not be based in Wellington ourselves, but the fact that we have all these longstanding clients based in TA21 tells us that we must be doing something right. I think it’s the fact that I don’t mind making visits to Wellington to meet with my clients. That’s a lot more than many other brokers will do, especially the large nationals that are steadily taking over the world of insurance as they buy up one broker after another.

In fact, a client in Milverton mentioned to me as we discussed his last renewal that this was what appealed to him when it came to arranging his insurance with us. He remembered the days when a former local broker – another that sadly sold out to one of the nationals – used to come and chat with him about his renewal. His point was that this firm offers good old-fashioned local service and I was pleased he thought that as it’s exactly why we set this firm up.

You also get the reassurance that you are in safe hands. Adam is the only independent self-employed Chartered Insurance Broker in Taunton Deane. In fact, you’d be going some to find another in Somerset. Anyone else you speak to will either be less-qualified than Adam, or is an employee of a national or multinational firm.
